CUBS ..... Deal or No Deal?

What's the deal with the Diamondbacks? They supposedly had all this great pitching and they go into Wrigley and get their butts handed to them.  Are the Cubs for real or will they have their normal August swoon?  If they do that, beware of Lou going postal!

Major or Mid-major?

It seems to me that Xavier has established itself in the college basketball world as a legitimate "Major", even though there are those that insist no team from the Atlantic 10 can rise above the level of mid-major. Thirty wins against Division 1 opponents has to be worth something, doesn't it?  Probably the real test is if Xavier can hold on to Coach Miller for an extended time.  In the past, XU has lost some excellent coaches to more visible programs (Thad Matta to Ohio State, Skip Prosser to Wake Forest, Pete Gillen to Virginia).

Anybody have thoughts about this?
